Following the visual inspection and building on what prior information was available regarding the study subject, a conceptual plan for using complementary paleoimaging modalities should be considered. These considerations will necessarily be based on what may be available. In field settings, endoscopy may be the only additional modality applicable. If the research is being conducted nearer to a village, town, or city, paleoimagers should make themselves aware of what the potential is for advanced imaging, such as computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance (MR) scans as they relate to the current study.
