a All females (except SB 432 and 434) demonstrated weak behavioural signs of oestrus and would not breed naturally. Females SB 432 and 434 were inseminated and not allowed to breed because of their young age (4.5 years) and first oestrus. Inséminant traits are represented as sperm motility (%), sperm progression (0 to 5; 5 is best) and the number of motile spermatozoa deposited intrauterine. Duration of gestation was calculated as day of the first AI (AI 1) = Day 0.
