PEGASE has two main objectives:

• Scientific: to study low-mass companions, either stellar or planetary, and in particular those that are very close to their star (i.e., the Pegasids);

• Technological: to validate certain instrumental techniques foreseen for DARWIN, notably space interferometry and flying in formation.
