Nesting instinct

Maiasaura means 'good-mother lizard' - these dinosaurs take great care of their young. Their nests are scooped out of the ground like a crocodile's nest, and when the young hatch, Maiasaura can be spotted bringing their babies food. Palaeontologists believe that the young will stay with their mothers for years -parental care uncommon in the dinosaur world.

Sociable creature

Herds of about 10,000 Maiasaura have been spotted together - young and old alike - slowly migrating in search of food or returning to their nesting sites.

Mamenchisaurus

Mamenchisaurus is yet another remarkable dinosaur from the exciting Chinese dinosaur fields and is well worth the trip for any keen dinosaur spotter.
