Saltasaurus is much like any other sauropod: a long neck and tail, small head, big body and so on. But it has something else as well - armour plating. Its back is covered with small, bony plates and bumps and, while these are in no way as protective as the armour of Ankylosaurus, they are still a useful defence against attack. Since Saltasaurus is one of the smaller sauropods, any extra protection has to be welcome.
